Kelly Maglia’s music is a unique blend of metal and hard rock. And like many of her musical idols – Heart, Pat Benatar, Skid Row, Aerosmith, and Mötley Crüe – her music often flirts dangerously with pop… Kelly Maglia is a one-of-a-kind rock singer who incorporates pole dancing, contortion and acrobatics as part of her live show.  You can even catch Kelly rocking out on a pole with a guitar.

Kelly’s vocal style runs the gamut from semi-classical to gritty belting. She even trained as a coloratura soprano at university before turning her attention to popular music.

She also has a deep passion for the electric guitar and makes sure that each of her songs features this glorious instrument. Here, you’ll find the gritty and driving rhythm guitar work of her producer Alex Williamson and the lead guitar wizardry of Jess P. Tzimas and Konstantin Silich.

Verse 1

You say that you’re a shit show
And everyone agrees

You scream and swear that you’re a mess
And you’re no good for me

But willful seas are sweeter still
Than a calmer, stiller stream
A jagged rock that’s tough to climb
Just needs a [huh!] stronger team

Don’t like easy
Don’t like neat
Don’t like my coffee
Too frothy or too sweet

Chorus

A pinch of poison
A little bit of scruff
I like my men
Just enough rough

On the edge of disaster
Every other month
Is what I’m after
Are you enough rough?

Verse 2

You say I’d have to rough it
If I were your girl
But I say, fine! Bring it!
And let me find your pearl

Pull my hair and make me scream
Go on – yank my chain
Get under my skin baby

Ooooh, I won’t complain.

Don’t like easy
Don’t like neat
Don’t bring me one problem –
Bring your whole damn fleet!

Chorus

A pinch of poison
A little bit of scruff
I like my men
Just enough rough

I roar with laughter
When you call my bluff.
That’s what I’m after
Are you enough rough?

Bridge

I’m glad that you’re not perfect
Cuz neither the hell am I
A draft that’s incomplete-r
Gets sweeter all the time.
Sweeter all the time!

Guitar solo

Chorus

A pinch of poison
A little bit of scruff
I like my men
Just enough rough

I roar with laughter
When you call my bluff.
That’s what I’m after
Are you enough rough?

A pinch of poison
A little bit of scruff
I like my men
Just enough rough

I roar with laughter
When you call my bluff.
That’s what I’m after
Are you enough rough?

A pinch of poison
A little bit of scruff
I like my men just enough
Are you enough rough?
Are you enough rough?

Verse 1

One man comes to me
Mostly in the night
He’s a golden boy who dreams
But runs from his own light

He’s my black velvet sunshine
My fiery moon
He leaps toward the stars,
Dares them to make some room

He’s my dear, dark dreamer
Who strains toward the light
Then U-turns to dusk
Cuz it’s not worth the fight

Chorus

I shouldn’t love him at all
He’s here and then he’s not
Still crave the whisper of his voice
Two men, one choice

Is it the fall that I love?
The high before the low?
A dark, entangled paradise

Two men, one choice
Two men—

One choice.

Verse 2

The other man comes to me
Mostly when it’s light
He has black velvet locks
But a luminescent heart

He’s a clear desert sky
And just about as warm –
He loves me without restraint
And when he leaves, he’s never gone

Chorus

I should love him even more
Nothing more I could ask for
But is it all bit too “nice”?
Two men one choice

Is it the dark that I crave –
The strain and then the fight –
The electrifying night – ?
Two men —

Bridge

Must I choose?
Aren’t both right?
A little light…
A little night—

Guitar solo

Chorus

A little ease and then a fight
Just so I know that I’m alive
Not too black or too white
Two men, both right

A little thrill of the chase
Then back home, we’re interlaced
Before sweet dawn, a fiery night

Two men…

One choice….

Verse 1

You want rhyme or reason?
I’ll take the rhyme.
Hell, I don’t need a reason –
I’ll have some wine.

I’m on the verge of crazy
And I like how it feels
I’m ready to go lazy
And live life for real.

Chorus

I wanna run with wolves at midnight
I wanna sip red wine at noon.
I wanna dare the loud-mouthed ocean.
And fall in love too soon.

I wanna dream all day and forget what’s real
And not give that up
I wanna scream down the sidewalk
With my buttons undone.
Buttons undone…

Verse 2

You say I am reckless
I say I’m sane.
You swear there’s price to pay, but –
YOU choose your chains.

I’m on the verge of Truth
And I like just how it feels
I’ve found my second youth
And this time it’s real!

Chorus

I wanna run with wolves at midnight
I wanna sip red wine at noon.
I wanna dare the loud-mouthed ocean.
And fall in love too soon.

I wanna dream all day and forget what’s real
And not give that up.
I wanna scream down the sidewalk
With my buttons undone.
Buttons undone…

Bridge

I wanna wear an inappropriate dress
To the Ladies’ afternoon tea
I want them to think I’m a mess
And whisper “what is she thinking?”
Tell me – what is she thinking?!!

Guitar solo

Chorus

I wanna run with the wolves at midnight
I wanna sip red wine at noon.
I wanna dare the loud-mouthed ocean
And fall in love too soon

I dream all day and forget what’s real
And not give that up
I wanna scream down the sidewalk
With my buttons undone.
Buttons undone…

Verse 1

Open your eyes,
A new day is dawning.
You really are trying

But you can’t keep from yawning

Carpool with Josh,
Benita and Keith,
Don’t ever be late
For Trigonometry.
Don’t get a B
Or risk mediocrity.
Stash your money away
And you’ll be happy someday.

Pre-chorus

Go to church Sundays
Do your chores at noon
Go with Mom to Safeway
Come home, clean your room…

Chorus

And wash, rinse, repeat
Be like everyone you meet!
Just wash, rinse, repeat –

It’s the American Dream!

Just wash, rinse, repeat
Be like everyone you meet!
Wash, rinse, repeat –

It’s the American Dream!

Verse 2

Then when you’re older
It really gets golden.
Your mortgage – your trophy!
And your new puppy, Sophie.

You’ve got your Soulmate.
Check that off the list.
His paycheck is fat.
Anything else you missed?

Pre-chorus

Do the laundry on Sundays
Wash the cars at noon
Buy your groceries at Safeway
Stuff your fridge, if there’s room

Chorus

Wash, rinse, repeat
Be like everyone you meet!
Yes, wash, rinse, repeat –

It’s the American Dream!

Just wash, rinse, repeat
Be like everyone you meet!
Yes, wash, rinse, repeat –

It’s the American Dream!

Bridge

And now comes the newborn –
Your real pride and joy!
It’s OK you can’t breathe.
It’s a new baby boy!

– GUITAR SOLO –

Wash, rinse, and repeat
Be like everyone you meet!
It’s the American Dream—-!

Verse 3

Now your therapy’s not working
You think you’ll take a break-
You’ve had too much coffee
And still you can’t stay awake.

Your job is going just fine
Really you can’t complain
Your son’s getting all Bs
Is that why you’re ill at ease?

Wash, rinse, REPEAT
Wash, rinse REPEAT
Wash, rinse REPEAT
Wash, rinse REPEAT

That’s your American Dream!
That’s your American Dream!
That’s your American Dream!
That’s your American Dream!
